Faith for Modern Life, Grace for All

Our Mission & Unique Role

Grace Community Church exists to change lives for the better by helping people to know Jesus Christ, to grow in Christ-like character and to live out an authentic Christian community, by serving the world, and one another.

Becoming a disciple of Christ requires that we be refreshingly different from the cultural perception of a church, and sensitive to the stereotypes that can close hearts and minds. To that end, we adhere to Bible-based teaching that is intellectually engaging, grounded in fact, culturally relevant, and applicable to everyday life. Our music is contemporary, participatory and inspires worship. As a non-denominational church, we do not have "membership" as everyone is welcome.

History

First and foremost, Grace Community Church is about the modern application of Christian faith, and how it guides us to apply Bible-based values to everyday life. Founded in the spring of 2001, Grace Community Church began when several families asked Cliffe Knechtle to lead an informal Bible study in New Canaan. Over the years, we have met at a variety of venues in New Canaan to accommodate our growing congregation. Our pilgrimage has demonstrated that a church is not a building, but rather a group of people seeking to know and serve God, and one another.

Our warm and welcoming church offers a casual, family friendly atmosphere featuring contemporary music, and a compelling Bible-based message. This relaxed Sunday morning experience sets the stage to create a community born of grace and encouraging a deeper connection to Jesus Christ.
