Greetings Sisters in Christ,

I hope autumn finds you healthy both physically and spiritually. It’s hard to believe our Women’s Ministry Christmas Party and 2018 events are being prepared! Be sure to view the Calendar of Events below for additional information and pass along any upcoming events you wish to share with the Women of Grace.

This season my walk with the Lord has been nothing less than incredible and challenging. The daily devotionals speak directly to the situations at hand, along with scripture readings and podcasts, which seem to collaborate themes. This includes my God-wink experience while driving along; God is present in every moment. I found a radio station (AM, way up in the 1500’s) which two Christian women were speaking about being prepared for God’s hand and voice in our lives … when one of the co-hosts said “now, Darlene” and continued on with the message: I nearly drove off the road! I couldn’t listen to the remaining part of the show and do not know if the co-host was named Darlene or not, but God got my attention!

Be ever mindful of God’s day-to-day presence in your life, walk with Him, talk with Him and think of Him. He is ever present; we need to be ever present with Him. If you have a story or two you would like to share about your God-winks, please feel free to pass them along. Testimonies bring hope, joy and comfort … and in my case a chuckle with a good Amen!

Thank you!

"You light a lamp for me.
The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
In your strength I can crush an army;
with my God I can scale any wall.
God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock?"
- Psalm 18:28-31

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites."
- Colossians 3:23-24
We feel testimonies help others connect with the challenging situation and/ or
overcoming of such. Below is a recent testimony from one of our Sisters in Christ.
She asked that only her initials be used to identify her. If you wish to comment,
feel free to reach out to me and I will forward your message to her.

The Difficulty with Faith and Humility
"The Lord desires and requires for his people to have faith in Him."
Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the assurance of things we hope for, and the evidence of things we do not see. For without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Hebrews 11:1, 6

The definition of earnestly is; fervent, intent, purposeful, determined, industrious, ambitious. Earnest, resolute, serious, sincere imply having qualities of depth and firmness. Earnest implies having a purpose and being steadily and soberly eager in pursuing it: an earnest student.

The definition of seek is attempt to find (something).

So if I continually seek God, as if I was to gain a reward, I will find him. He rewards those who seek him out. God is the ultimate reward. Encapsulated in God is everything that you or I will ever need. Think of it like this, The Mega Millions lottery is $242,362,000, and many of us take a pool of money at our jobs and will pay $20.00 or more to get a chance to win millions of dollars. We go to great lengths to seek that valuable prize. However, we fail to see the value in seeking God. I am guilty of being carelessly haphazard in seeking, the Lord, who is more valuable than The Mega Millions Jackpot.

We treat God like a genie in a bottle or a sugar daddy, we take him out only when we need him. The truth is, we need him all the time, however, He only can get our attention when something affects our comfort. When we lose a job, a spouse, a friend, prestige, money or a home. We are fully at attention then. The Lord has my attention right now, because I am in danger. I may lose my apartment, and I need to find a job where I can make more money.

The Lord will give you instructions if you lean into him, if you admit you need him, if you humble yourself. Friend, please consider humbling yourself, before something in our life does. I had somethings that I have needed to submit to God and earnestly seek him about and I got too busy to handle them. I could have used my skills as a speaker, encourager, writer and college graduate to make extra money. I was too busy or too afraid to get in God’s face in prayer for answers. Whatever the reasoning, I now have to face the music, I have a court date to see if I will keep my apartment or not.

The question is, will I earnestly seek God for an answer or still think that I have it all together? To be continued…..

God is amazing and he knows what is best for us, always. I ignored the signs long enough and I finally made the decision to leave my apartment. It was one of the toughest things that I have had to do recently, because I loved my independence and I like the facade of having it all together.

The true liberation came when I packed up my apartment and sold what I could. The Lord sent some amazing friends to help me move the rest of my apartment into a storage unit. I moved back into my parents’ home and I am being taken care of by them right now. I do not have to worry about where rent is coming from nor if I will have enough money for gas or food. My needs are met. I am not the most comfortable that I have ever been, but I am provided for and content.

I am grateful that the Lord provided a warm bed and a lovely family to come home to. Sometimes God’s provision is not the way you envisioned it to be, but it is always best and comes with the least amount of stress possible.

God bless you as you learn to pray, seek and hear the voice of God. Amen.
